1962 was the year that Zak Zakarian opened his shop to work on the European vehicles of the day. These included British Jaguar, Triumph, MG; French built Renault and Peugeot and Fiat from Italy.

Zak occasionally saw an Allard, French Facel-Vega's, a 1909 Renault taxi, MG-TA, TC's, TD's, TF's and some early Ferrari Dino's. Zak performed work for movie studios on set vehicles from the TV series COMBAT!

Rosemead was the place to be in the 60's with many speed shops and enthusiasts in the area. The San Gabriel Valley was loaded with shops that sold speed equipment, custom wheels, racing camshafts, intake manifolds, performed custom body work and made to order interiors.

These classics cars are now in the past replaced by modern machinery requiring modern techniques to repair and diagnose. Some shops are left though few in business as long as Zak's!

S.U and Weber Carburetors of the past are virtually replaced by complex Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI), gone are the Lucas points replaced by Hi-Energy Electronic Ignition (HEI) systems.

Not a necessarily well known fact is that many domestic manufactures share technology with European autos, especially smaller vehicles. We have found that repair technology blends from one maker to another, allowing our techs to apply their skills to different architectures.

Our training has also kept up with the times not includes maintenance and repairs on Domestic as well as European automobiles.

What Zak's offers is personalized service and someone to talk to rather than an automated phone menu. We offer years of experience and the drive to make repairs right at a fair price.

We are an Automobile Club of Southern California (AAA) approved repair facility and we employ ASE certified staff.

We have served our community for 47 years with straightforward info and advice on repairs and we're nice people too!
