In the beginning Craig Turner and a few of his friends began getting together at his house on Thursday evenings to work on their
cars. Over time the group grew and, as he puts it, "Once we invited the ladies to join us the demon rum soon followed and that
was the end of any serious work."
In recent years the meetings have attracted fifty or more people on any given week. There are always interesting cars and
fascinating people. Many of the regulars are active in vintage racing and can be seen at the VARA events around Southern
California. Several regulars have impressive collections of classic European and pre-war American cars, many of which have
won honors at concours from Monterey to San Diego.
The meetings are held at members homes or shop spaces all over the LA area. It is an informal association of men and women
who love cars and enjoy sharing their treasures and knowledge with fellow enthusiasts. Invitation is by word of mouth and new
cars and faces are always welcome.
